Est-il possible de faire de la Texas roots music au coeur de l'Allemagne? Selon Mr Jones et son 3ème CD, on est tenté de répondre oui. Ouverture avec Lungs de Townes Van Zandt (réussie, dans l'esprit et la forme) compos honorables, production légère (Eric Taylor), fingerpicking et voix gorgée d'émotion: le menu de Waitin' For Me n'est après tout pas si éloigné de celui de Jimmie Dale Gilmore. Le soin classique apporté à toutes le interprétations, l'absence totale d'ostentation et de frime, tout va dans le bon sens: la sincérité. Une réussite humble, mais une réussite avant tout.

Is it possible to play Texas roots music in the heart of Germany? According to Mr Jones and his third album, the answer seems to be yes. The record opens with Townes Van Zandt's Lungs (a success, both in form and spirit). Good songs, light production (Eric Taylor), fingerpicking and voice filled with emotion: after all, the menu of Waitin' for Me is not that far from what proposes Jimmie Dale Gilmore. All songs are rendered in a classic fashion, no ostentation, no show-off, everything is going in the right direction: sincerity. A humble success, but a success first and foremost.

Ist es möglich, im Herzen Deutschlands Texas Roots Music zu machen? Nach Mr Jones drittem Album scheint die Antwort darauf ‚ja’ zu sein. Die CD beginnt mit Townes Van Zandts Lungs (ein Erfolg, sowohl in der Form als auch im Geiste). Gute Songs, lockere Produktion (Eric Taylor), das Fingerpicking und die Stimme voller Gefühl: alles in allem ist die Zusammenstellung von Waitin’ For Me nicht weit von einem Jimmie Dale Gilmore entfernt. Alle Lieder sind in klassischem Gewand aufbereitet, absolut keine Angeberei, keine Prahlerei, alles weist in die richtige Richtung: Ehrlichkeit. Ein bescheidener Erfolg, aber zuerst und vor allem ein Erfolg.
