Aber wir sollten diesen alten Dylan-Song nicht allzusehr vergewaltigen, handelt es sich bei diesem Mr Jones hier ja nicht um den Schreiberling, sondern um den Künstler. Auch wenn das Album mit Townes Van Zandts (-> FW#23 & diese Ausgabe) "Lungs" beginnt - "Won't you lend your lungs to me, mine are collapsin'" -, ist es noch lange nicht soweit: "here is your throat back", um noch einmal Dylan zu zitieren. Herr Jones ist auch nicht die ganze Zeit depressiver Stimmung. Ausser oben genanntem Lied und Si Kahn's "What You Do With What You've Got" ist alles andere auf Jones' eigenem Mist gewachsen. "I'd like to sing and play all night long with just my guitar and a glass, make my thoughts and my tears go straight to rhyme, make up a song at last". Akustische Musik aus dem Lone Star State Texas, in Houston aufgenommen, produziert von Eric Taylor. Und das beste von allem: trotz des original texanischen Akzents stammt Herr Jones nicht aus Texas, sondern ist mitten in good ol' Germany beheimatet, im tiefsten Bayern. Beware America, das alte Europa hat alles selber, was es braucht! (Walkin' T:-)M)
